Same Sex partnership certificate

Yesterday, Shibuya city assembly approved an act that certifies same sex partnership for the first time in Japan. According to the Constitution, it is generally construed that the same sex marriage is prohibited. However, as the Supreme Court of the United States has approved the same sex marriage the year before last year, the same request is becoming bigger. I think that LGBT is one of the major human right issues and that legal protection should be considered in Japan too.
