I participated in the DPJ extraordinary party
conference yesterday and watched the candidates’ speech and the result. No
candidate did not acquire majority vote in the first session but Mr. Okada and
Mr. Hosono proceeded to the runoff vote. The result of the runoff vote was a
mere difference of 13 points.
Each candidate made a powerful statement. And
I don’t think there are no huge gap among their idea and policy. I expect Mr.
Okada to strengthen inner governance firstly because one of the reason DPJ lost
public trust is that DPJ is seen uncontrolled in many cases. At the same time,
I would like Mr. Okada focus on the coming municipal government elections taken
place in April.
