New Year’s traffic jam is terrible

The first consecutive 3 days of January, most of the people are in a winter vacation. During the time especially close the end of the 3^rd day, the traffic jam of a main highway are terrible. The heaviest traffic jam is about 45km queue in a highway that takes almost 3 hours to pass. It is incredible and everybody doesn’t want it. However, as the vacation is very short, it is inevitable to move during the peak time.

I myself think this is a huge loss of society that needs to be improved. However, this is quite difficult as it is deeply related with working system of Japanese companies.

I think Japanese should have more vacations than now. Japanese people work too much. However, though they work very hard, labor efficiency is not excellent compared with other countries, which is really a problem.

I think labor standard should be more improved than now for workers’ benefit. If it is realized, the traffic jam would be less serious than today.
