Yesterday, a local referendum was taken
place in Tokorozawa city, Saitama prefecture in order to judge whether air
conditioners should be equipped in primary schools close to Iruma base of Air
self defense force.
The votes for approval exceeded those
against. However, the voting rate was less than the ratio that the city must
make much of the result.
I suppose it is not likely the matter that
should be decided by referendum but it is very important that citizens judge
the policy directly.
The mayor’s comment and decision will be focused
thereon.
